Bargen

If you need to generate barcodes for your products, then you definitely need to get the Bargen application. This is a user friendly application developed by Vladovsoft that will help you come up with several types of barcodes – a total of 33 types of barcodes are supported as a matter of fact.

Downloading the 874KB executable file needed to install Bargen will take little of your time (as you would expect, since the file is less than 1MB in size). Run the aforementioned executable, click through a simple setup wizard, and before you know it Bargen is up and running.

There are 4 buttons on Bargen’s interface: Settings, Barcodes, Help, and About. The button that interests you the most is the one called Barcodes. Click it and you will be presented with a window that lists 2 sample barcodes.

From this window you can add a new barcode for one of your products. From a dropdown menu in the upper left hand corner you can choose one of the 33 types of barcodes the application supports. Once you settle on a type of barcode and you pick a label mode, all you have to do is provide the barcode number, type in a title, and type in the content of the barcode. Hit the “OK” button when you’re done and the new barcode will be added to the list, next to the 2 sample barcodes.

Bargen is not free; it is only free to try. This means that the trial version puts a watermark on the output.
